Thailand, People's Republic of China, Malaysia and Dubai accepted as Members of the ISA

The International Surfing Association, recognized by the IOC, just announced that Thailand, People's Republic of China, Malaysia and the Dubai have gained recognition as new members. 

Surfing Thailand, Surfing China, Malaysian Surfing Association and Dubai Surfing Association have successfully fulfilled the requirements for membership.

About the program
The ISA to proud to award academic surf scholarships to U18 junior surfers. The Individual Scholarship Program's main objective is to provide financial support to junior surfers who demonstrate an actual need, in order to facilitate an experience in surfing while encouraging the importance of education.

The money must be used to travel to surf contests, and/or upgrade their surfing equipment and to foster the junior surfer’s education.

Date of Birth: 25 June, 1995
Residing in Port Macquarie, Australia 

Three months ago a young Australian, Matt Banting, was crowned World Champion at the 2010 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship held in Piha Beach, New Zealand. In order to achieve the biggest title of his career, he had to win seven heats against the best surfers from over 20 countries in the Under 16 Boys division.
